Project description

The nature of public spaces is closely related to the nature of cities. The open public space in cities can be defined as heart, and users and their mobility patterns are the vessels shaping life and movement flow.
The main purpose of this study was to find out pedestrians’ mobility behavior and their pattern of using public spaces based on movement flows. In this study, human interactions, patterns, and relationships have been analyzed according to the layout and design of the Levent Çarşı area.

My responsibility

At the beginning of this collaborative research, the PPS tool was used to assess the present quality of the space according to the experts' previous experiences and knowledge.
Then, We implemented various qualitative and quantitative methods, including observations and spatial analysis in two different scales. We used movement traces, gate count, static snapshots, stationary mapping, and visibility graph analysis (VGA). In this study, I was responsible for collecting data, recording snapshots, and mainly analyzing data, preparing tables and diagrams, and producing presentation documents and materials.
